We are happy to provide information related to community services, equipment, recreation, training, education, and resources available for the Deaf and hard of hearing community.

We have several specialists who we can connect you with.

Access Specialist

The Access Specialist ensure that people who are Deaf or hard of hearing receive equal access to opportunities and services. They work with Federal and State mandates on equal access including education and employment settings.

They work as a liaison between consumers and service providers on the topic of accessible services. They can help consumers with getting services they need from state and local governments, employers, and other private entities. The Access Specialist works with attitudes that affect the Deaf and hard of hearing community. They also provide training for the consumers on the laws that support and protects them.

Technology Specialist

The Technology Specialist educate and demonstrates assistive technologies available for the Deaf and hard of hearing community. These technologies includes telephones, ***.

We are also able to work with employers and employees in meeting workplace needs. They often work with Vocational Rehabilitation Services and provide communication strategies, coping skills, sensitivity training for employees and employers, college tuition waivers, and information.

Presentations and resources on living as a Deaf or hard of hearing person is also available through services provided by the Technology Specialist. These topics include hearing loss in the workplace, living with hearing loss, hearing aids, resources, and many other topics.

STAP Outreach & Training Specialist

Try new equipment in our lab. See which devices work best for you. We offer free telephones through the Texas STAP. We also offer loans or sell devices to support your communication needs.

Family Support

Parents and families of people who are Deaf or hard of hearing enjoy the support and information provided here. We facilitate support group meetings, parent networks, workshops, and special events just for families.
