Make a Difference at the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center

At the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center (DHHC), volunteers play a crucial role in helping us achieve our mission to empower and support the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. By volunteering your time and skills, you can help us create a more inclusive environment, provide essential services, and enhance the quality of life for those we serve.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering at the DHHC offers you a chance to:

• Make a Positive Impact: Your efforts will directly benefit the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, helping individuals gain access to resources, education, and support. • Learn and Grow: Gain valuable experience, learn about Deaf culture, and develop new skills in a supportive environment. • Build Connections: Meet like-minded individuals, build friendships, and become part of a caring and dedicated community.

Volunteer Opportunities

We have a range of volunteer opportunities available to match your interests and schedule. Whether you can volunteer weekly or help out occasionally, your contribution is valuable to us. Here are some of the ways you can get involved:

Event Volunteers: Assist with the setup, coordination, and teardown of events such as workshops, community gatherings, and fundraisers. Event volunteers help ensure our events are successful and enjoyable for all participants.
Program Assistants: Support our ASL classes, educational programs, and outreach efforts. Program assistants may help with classroom activities, tutoring, or promoting our programs in the community.
Office Volunteers: Help with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and organizing materials. Office volunteers play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly.
Special Skills Volunteers: Do you have a specific skill, such as graphic design, marketing, or maintenance? Let us know! We are always looking for volunteers who can contribute their expertise to special projects or initiatives.
